Data Scientist (Baltic Business Analytics Department), based in Riga (Latvia)

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field

• At least 2 years of experience in developing and maintaining statistical and/or machine learning models within the insurance or financial sector

• Strong knowledge of Python and SQL

• Proven experience with data cleaning, feature engineering and predictive modeling

• Ability to work with large datasets and apply statistical and machine learning techniques for pricing and risk assessment

• Good English communication skills for collaboration across the Baltics, Latvian - native level knowledge

• Analytical mindset with creativity and curiosity to explore new approaches and solutions

• Ability to explain complex topics in a simple and understandable way

• Developing and maintaining pricing models for insurance products such as MTPL, CASCO, property insurance, etc.

• Evaluating and interpreting A/B testing results and providing recommendations for data-driven decision-making

• Preparing and presenting analysis results in a simple and understandable way to various business teams

• Monitoring model performance and making necessary adjustments

• Exploring new analytical methods, tools, and technologies to enhance pricing and risk modeling capabilities

• Work in a great team at the BTA office – Sporta street 11, Riga, Latvia

• On-site work on weekdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility to adjust working hours within a one-hour range

• After the probation period, the possibility to work remotely 2 days per week

• Gross salary from EUR 3500 gross, depending on the candidate’s experience and suitability for the role
